12 No. Khalilnagar Union Parishad has been selected as the best union of the upazila for its special contribution in family planning, mother and child health activities.

The name of the best union was announced on the occasion of the 20th Population Day organized by the Upazila Family Planning Office at Tala Shilpakala Academy hall on Thursday (July 21) morning.

The chief guest of the program, Honorable Member of Parliament (Tala-Kalaroa-1) Ad. Mustafa Lutfullah handed over the best Union crest to lecturer Pronob Ghosh Bablu, Chairman of 12 No. Khalilnagar Union Parishad.

Satkhira Deputy Commissioner Humayun Kabir, Tala Upazila Awami League President Sheikh Nurul Islam, Upazila Chairman Ghosh Sanat Kumar, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Ruhul Quddus, Upazila Vice Chairman Sardar Moshiar Rahman, Women Vice Chairman Murshida Parveen Papri were present as special guests on the occasion. Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Obaidul Haque, President of Tala Upazila Citizen Committee Bir Muktijoddha Alauddin Joardar, Principal of Tala Shahid Muktijoddha Mahavidyalaya were also present in the event. Chairman of 12 unions including Enamul Islam, freedom fighters, journalists, public representatives and all officers and employees of upazila administration.
